Rice Butterflies

As wedding videographers, we love anything that makes for great film.

So what makes for great film? Well to be honest, anything that comes from the heart – the tiny details that mean so much to you, even though they may go un-noticed by everyone else.

That said… we recently came across these rice butterflies…

Rice Butterflies

Made from rice paper glued to a grain of rice, they fly for up to 8 seconds (we said great film!), and come in 6 different colours. We will definitely be recommending them to all our brides this year, so if you are signed up to our newsletter look out for their second appearance there.

If you would like to purchase rice butterflies for your wedding, please visit their UK store.

Kelly and Mark’s Wedding

Kelly and Mark are a fantastic couple with tremendous personalities. Their beautiful wedding at Preston Court in Canterbury was full of small details that showed how much effort they had put into planning their day, and how much they mean to each other.

Everything about their day was beautiful, and although there was rain, we have no doubt that it will be as lucky as traditions predicts. Kelly and Mark, thank you so much for letting us share your day, and best wishes for your lives together.

Claire and Martin’s Wedding Highlights

Claire and Martin were married earlier this year at St Lalluwy’s Church, where Claire’s family have their own stained glass window, and was followed by a fabulous reception at Higher Trevartha Farm, which is home to Claire’s family.

We were delighted to catch the ‘naughty moment’ between Claire and her sister during the bridal preparations. It created much mirth and set the tone for the day.

Claire and Martin’s wedding included so many really special little touches, from the hand painted table names to the hand stitched napkin rings. But what made Claire and Martin’s day really special was the people, as I am sure you will appreciate from their highlights film.

We would like to thank Claire and Martin for their amazing hospitality – we were treated more as guests than camera crew, and were really touched.

We wish you both all the best for your lives together.

Gemma and Dan’s Wedding Highlights

Gemma and Dan were married at St James Church, London followed by a reception at The Crypt on the Green.

Gemma and Dan’s romance spans many years. It started at school with a love note, but then Dan moved away and they only saw each other every few years. However in 2006 they were both in London and their romance was rekindled, culminating in a proposal on bended knee in St Paul’s Cathedral.

Gemma and Dan’s wedding had so many wonderful little personal touches, from Gemma’s Dad playing the piano at the Church to her sister making the menu holders.

Gemma and Dan were so gracious and kind, and we would like to thank them for letting us share in their day. Gemma and Dan we wish you all the best for your life together.

James and Nanette’s Wedding Highlights

James and Nanette were married on the 4th of June at Littleham Church in Bideford, followed by a reception at Yeoldon House Hotel.

It was a simple wedding, and I say that particularly because it was beautiful in its simplicity. The day had a feel of true innocence and love that was utterly delightful, and which we feel is captured by their highlights clip.

James and Nanette, we wish you every happiness for your lives together – thank you for letting us be part of such a special day.

Caroline and Owen’s Wedding Highlights

Caroline and Owen were married at St Andrews Church in Devon, which is one of the most beautiful churches we have ever filmed in, with one of the best ministers, the Reverend Edward Hobbs.

The day was full of special touches, from the Tonna Male Voice Choir, who had come all the way from Wales to sing for Caroline and Owen, to the Floating lanterns released by Caroline, Owen and their guests as the evening drew to a close.

It was also a pleasure to work with their photographer Ventia Norrington of Firetop Photography. Caroline and Owen told us before their wedding that the most fun they had in the run up to their wedding was their pre-wedding shoot with her (Owen we hope your head is all better?).

Caroline and Owen we hope you enjoy your wedding film. Thank you for letting us be a part of your day – we wish you all the best for your future together.

Andrew Coulter Wedding Photography

Filming weddings means that we work regularly with wedding photographers. Over the last 4 years we have worked with dozens, some good, some bad and some just plain ugly. However every now and again we are privileged to work with a photographer who is truly great.

Andrew Coulter of Andrew Coulter Photography is one of the greats. On his website Andrew says:

“As a wedding photographer, my style is really natural. I don’t want to take up too much of your time, or to take you away from your party. You will have a fantastic time … Your photos will be beautiful, and you will love every single one.”

We can testify to the truth of his words. The first time we worked with Andrew we nicknamed him ‘Quick Draw McAndrew”, because he works so fast, and as videographers we have to really be on our toes to keep up. The flip side to this though is a wedding that flows beautifully and naturally with no un-necessarily long pauses waiting for Andrew to ‘get the perfect shot’. He has utter confidence that every photograph he takes will be beautiful, which makes for stunningly natural photographs and a minimum of ‘posing’.

We worked with Andrew at the wedding of Jacqui and Alex at Bovey Castle in April and wanted to feature some of the photographs that he took in our Blog. It was a complete pleasure working with him once again, we hope you enjoy his photographs as much as we do.
